The Jinhao X450 is an impressive pen for its price of around $10. It has a metal body with gold accents, a two-tone steel nib (#6 size), can be posted, and it is sold with a converter (but it can also accept standard international cartridges). At the time of this review, the majority of the offerings for this specific model are only supplied with medium nibs, but as they are #6 nibs, they can be exchanged with other nibs (such as #6 Goulet Pen Company nibs).
The X450 has a hefty weight to it, posted or unposted, and writes quite smoothly. The grip section is comfortable, and the gold-tone accents of the pen do not scratch off easily. The nib is stiff and does not allow for much line variation, but it can be interchanged with other #6 nibs. The converter holds approximately 1 milliliter of ink and functions well.
One possible issue is that the lacquered coating of the pen may chip over time with frequent use. However, considering the pen is around $10 retail, this is to be expected.
