Review:
The Bulova 96A120 Dual Aperture Watch is a unique watch that allows the wearer to view the movement of the watch through apertures in the dial of the watch and the exhibition caseback of the watch. The watch is a 21-jewel movement that keeps time well and requires limited motion to continue moving throughout the day. The watch can be worn as a dress watch, but at 42mm it may be larger than the standard dress watch. Still, the watch has an attractive face, as the rose gold accents compliment the dial well. The crown of the watch is larger than expected, particularly for a dress watch, but it has a solid feel to it, particularly when winding the watch. The second hand of the watch is actually a subdial at the 6 O'clock position; the subdial at the 9 O'clock position is for military time, which can be useful.
Overall the watch itself feels and looks good; the quality is high, and despite its classic aesthetic, the watch appears to be quite durable. It has a unique style and design, and fits well on the wrist. However, the larger crown size can be an issue for some, in addition to the watch being a larger 42mm in case diameter. While Bulova claims that the watch has a water resistance of 30 meters, it would not be prudent to wear this watch in water, as it could damage the movement or rust the stainless steel case. Nevertheless, the watch has performed well and comes with a nice matching leather band. However, models with different dial colors can also come with a stainless steel band with a butterfly deployant clasp; hence, this stainless steel band was purchased as an add-on for this watch, and complements it beautifully (the pictures listed show the watch on a 7" wrist). Due to the aforementioned reasons, the Bulova 96A120 Dual Aperture Watch is recommended by Lion Stationers.
