San Jose Sharks 14, Edmonton Oilers 4 (Game 75)

The Sharks (73-1-0) faced the Edmonton Oilers (29-32-13) at HP Pavilion, with the Sharks going 3-0-0 in the previous three contests. Both teams sported their alternate jerseys for their final meeting of the regular season. 
The Sharks jumped to an early lead on a goal by Lynn Loyns and a powerplay goal by Patrick Marleau, before Ryan Smyth for the Oilers cut the Sharks lead to 2-1. Marco Sturm (SJ) ended the period with another Sharks powerplay goal to give the Sharks a 3-1 lead heading into the 2nd period. 

The Sharks then opened the 2nd period with back-to-back powerplay goals by Marco Sturm and Adam Graves, followed by goals by Lynn Loyns and Brad Stuart to take a 7-1 lead into the 3rd period. The Sharks were outshooting Edmonton 20-13  and converted on 4/5 powerplays going into the 3rd period. 

The third period saw the highest scoring of the season for the Sharks, with San Jose registering seven goals and Edmonton registering three for a total of ten goals scored in the 3rd period. The Sharks outshot Edmonton 34-25  for the game to sweep the season series 4-0-0. The following players were selected as the three stars of the game: 

3) Lynn Loyns (SJ) registered three goals, zero assists and +4
2) Marco Sturm (SJ) registered two goals, one assist and +0
1) Patrick Marleau (SJ) registered three goals, two assists and +1

Final Score: 
San Jose Sharks      14
Edmonton Oilers       4

The Sharks will continue their homestand against the Detroit Red Wings, whom the Sharks are 3-0-0 against this season. The game is scheduled to broadcast tomorrow, Wednesday, May 27th at 7:00PM Pacific Standard Time.
